Private Power Projects

PPA staff have wide experience in the provision of technical and economic consultancy services to developers and banks on independent power projects (IPPs).

PPA can provide advice on the technical, financial and commercial viability of projects, including the assessment of power transmission and distribution system connections, covering system integration, use-of-system charges, etc. and evaluation of the various risks associated with the financing, construction and operation of private power projects.

PPA also has the technical skills to assist developers and banks with private power transmission and distribution projects; on these projects the developer faces a different set of risks which may include electricity sales across international borders or sales to domestic consumers within a regulated market.

PPA staff, working with our team of associate consultants, have the skills and experience to undertake due diligence studies on power generation, transmission or distribution systems for prospective purchasers or financiers. These may include condition assessments, asset valuations, market analysis and evaluation of future operation (including prediction of future market prices, etc.).
