PPA has extensive experience in the field of renewable energy projects.
Services provided by the company include:
- feasibility studies,
- advice on integration, connection and licensing issues,
- due diligence and valuation studies, and
- market studies.
Specialist renewable energy services include assistance with grid interconnection for photo voltaic, small hydro and biomass technologies, and the development of institutional mechanisms and structures.
Institutional Development
Expertise includes formulation of sustainable institutional structures for clean energy systems, particularly in developing countries. Services include recommending financing systems for off-grid and mini-grid systems, developing appropriate institutional structures to allow for the development / expansion of renewable energy resources and training key personnel.
Grid Interconnection
PPA has wide experience of working with the developers of renewable energy schemes on the technical and commercial aspects of grid interconnection. This includes liasing between developers, contractors and transmission/distribution companies on aspects of connection design, deep and shallow connection charges and the negotiation of connection and use of system agreements and fees. In addition, the company assists with the definition and implementation of metering and financial settlement arrangements as they affect renewable plant owners and operators.

Sierra Leone
Economic Analysis for Bumbuna Hydropower Project. PPA recently conducted the economic analysis for the Bumbuna Hydropower Project, in Sierra Leone, a country where the power infrastructure is in a very poor condition.
